Peter Krebs - Germany

Picture
In many regards, Peter is the most talented and revered bonsai potter in Europe. His pots are of the highest quality and in addition to being very functional, will surely be very collectable items in the future. He has an in-depth knowledge and appreciation of ancient Chinese and Japanese pottery, which shows through in his work.
Not only a creator of wonderful pots, Peter is also an extremely talented painter, and this combination has produced some of Europe's finest pieces.
His website can be found here.

In my personal favourite glaze of Peter's, a wonderful shohin mokko shaped pot, with great depth and delicate feet.

A large oval with a rich cream glaze and beautoful proportions. The dark exposed band of clay at the base contrasts the glaze, and compliments the pot nicely.

This larger oval has great proportions, and a wonderful rich, deep blue glaze, which I think complients the Autumnal colours of my Arakawa maple beautifully.

D942 -

A take on an ancient Chinese style, this oval 'bag shape' pot has great curves and complimentary rounded feet. The glaze has an almost marbled efffect to it.

D1108 -

A superb mooko shaped pot, which has been superbly crafted, with soft curves, a rim of rivets, and a wonderful rich brown glaze.

D1323 -

In one of my favourite of Peter's glazes, is this fantastic chuhin sized rectangle. Beautifully crafted, with a gentle curve to the sides, cut corners, a band in relief at the base, and a slight rim.
This predominantly brown glaze gives a bronzed effect, which really gives the pot life!
