Sharaku - Masahiro Shimotori
Sharaku (しゃらく / 写楽）was born in 1940 and from 1997 was a student of the master of glazes; Bushuan (Shigeru Fukuda / Fukushige). He also studied in Guangdong / Canton province in South China several years later.
His pots are beautifully refined, with true lines and curves, and superb glazes - although generally more reserved than his master Bushuan. These wonderful pieces perfectly suit the modern culture of bonsai, albeit largely based on traditional design.
