European Dragons & Beasts
The world over, dragons have played a central role in folklore and tradition; being the yin and yang of the the bird and the serpent - the dove or light over Jesus' head, and the evil serpent in the garden of Eden. These images are seen together throughout history, even in symbology such as the 'caduceus'; used as an international medical symbol - of two snakes coiling around a winged staff, which originated in Ancient Greece (the staff belonged to Hermes).
