René Le Coq

René Le Coq of France has been making delightful bonsai containers for some years. 
The majority of his pots are round, wheel thrown containers, at which he excels.
​His glazes are also often superb.

A round bowl, beautifully formed, and expertly glazed in cream with 'sang de boeufe' (oxblood or flambé glaze).
This glaze is very hard to master and is a favourite amongst collectors and enthusiasts. 
Note how the glaze thickens to an almost black tone of blood, whilst at glaze breaks (points of thinner glaze such as the relief banding), the cream again comes through to great effect.
