Ian Baillie - U.K.
Ian Baillie is from Scotland in the U.K., and has been producing bonsai pots for over a generation. He is best known for his wheel thrown round pots, although he also makes rectangles, cascades, and free form containers. His pots are highly regarded and complement trees in competitions across Europe.

D361 -A beautifully formed round semi cascade pot, with cloud feet and a wonderful muted glaze of dark brown fading into tan and yellow.

This sublime piece reminds me of a first generation Ino Shukuho, or Tofukuji. The antique / aged experience overlies a depth of deep blue(ruri), which runs into indigo, and kinyo (baby blue) with hints of greens, bronze and gold.
One of the most incredible glazes I have had the pleasure of seeing. |
